Most custom hats give you a logo and a color choice. The P736 gives you the entire hat.

The Private Label P736 is a 5-panel, 100% twill cotton hat built for brands that want full control – over the fabric, the bill, the back strap, the inside taping, and every decoration choice in between. We’ve built it for Cubs opening night. We’ve built it with a mental health message stitched into the crown. We’re building it in green and pink camo right now. The construction stays the same. What changes is everything else.

Here’s how three different builds work – and how to decide which one is right for your project.

IN THIS GUIDE

1 Custom Cut & Sew – Build It From Scratch
2 Tapestry – Fabric That Does the Talking
3 Custom Camo – Head-to-Toe Brand Print
4 How to Choose Your Build
5 MOQ, Production, and What to Expect

Section 1

Custom Cut & Sew – Build It From Scratch

Cut and sew is the most open-ended build on the P736. You’re choosing the fabric, the colorway, the panel layout, and the closure – snapback or buckle. From there, decoration is yours: embroidery, patches, printed graphics, or a combination of all three.

We built a version of this for the Cubs – a hat for opening night that had to read like a premium limited release, not a generic promo item. That’s the standard cut and sew build delivers. Every element is chosen, not defaulted.

We also built a version that carries a message rather than a logo – “take care of your mental health” stitched across the front panel. That’s the other thing cut and sew makes possible: the hat becomes the statement. No brand identity required beyond the words themselves.

If you’re building for a specific event, a merch drop, or an initiative where the design has to be completely original, cut and sew is your starting point. The P736 structure stays consistent – 5 panel, adjustable, twill cotton – while everything on top of it is yours to define.

Section 2

Tapestry – Fabric That Does the Talking

Tapestry builds flip the construction model. Instead of starting with a plain fabric and adding decoration, you start with a fabric that already has visual weight – a woven pattern, a texture, a color depth that embroidery alone can’t produce.

On the P736, tapestry fabric is available from a stock selection we keep at Culture Studio. You pick the tapestry, we cut and sew the hat around it. The result is a product that looks designed from the inside out, not applied from the outside in.

Tapestry works especially well for brands in music, streetwear, and lifestyle – anywhere the aesthetic of the product carries as much weight as the logo on it. It’s also a strong move for limited drops where you want visual differentiation without the lead time of a fully custom print.

One note: tapestry carries a higher MOQ – 200 pieces vs. 150 for standard cut and sew. That’s the trade-off for the elevated material. For the right brand and the right project, it’s an easy call.

Section 3

Custom Camo – Head-to-Toe Brand Print

This is the build that turns the most heads. Custom camo on the P736 means the camo pattern itself is yours – designed to your color spec, printed across the hat body, the bill, the back strap, and the inside taping. The entire hat is the brand expression.

We just ran a pink camo version for the Culture Studio CollecXion – exclusively ours, built to show what the full custom camo option actually looks like in production. Next up: green and pink camo. Same construction, different colorway, completely different hat.

Custom camo is covered on the P736 through the camo print option, which includes up to 20,000-stitch embroidery on the front and 6,000 stitches on the back on top of the print. That means you can layer your logo in embroidery over a fully custom camo field – two decoration methods, one hat, one cohesive product.

This build is built for brands that want something exclusive. If the goal is a hat that nobody else has – one that reads as a limited product the moment someone picks it up – custom camo is the build that delivers that.

Section 4

How to Choose Your Build

Three builds, one hat structure. The right choice comes down to what you need the product to do.

  • Custom Cut & Sew: You have a specific design, colorway, or message and want full control over every panel. Best for events, merch drops, cause campaigns, and brand launches where original design is the point.
  • Tapestry: You want elevated fabric texture and visual complexity without a fully custom print. Best for lifestyle brands, music drops, and limited runs where the material itself communicates quality.
  • Custom Camo: You want the hat to be the exclusive. The pattern, the colorway, the entire construction is yours. Best for brands that want a product no one else is selling.

All three builds share the same base: 5-panel construction, 100% twill cotton, adjustable snapback or buckle closure, and embroidery as a decoration option. The P736 is available exclusively through Culture Studio’s CollecXion Private Label program.

Section 5

MOQ, Production, and What to Expect

Here’s what to plan around when you’re building a P736 project:

  • MOQ – Cut & Sew / Camo: 150 pieces minimum.
  • MOQ – Tapestry: 200 pieces minimum.
  • Production time: 3-4 weeks production + 3-5 days transit.
  • Embroidery included with camo: Up to 20k stitch front, 6k stitch back.
  • Artwork: Review the artwork guidelines before submitting files. Vector files preferred for embroidery and print.

If you’re working toward a hard event date – a tour, a launch, an opening night – start the conversation early. Three to four weeks of production is the target, but complex camo prints and tapestry sourcing can add time depending on spec. Get a quote before you lock your timeline.

The P736 is available to view and spec in the Culture Studio catalog. All three build types – cut and sew, tapestry, and custom camo – are quoted per project based on your spec.
